UN warns of looming water crisis and calls for urgent reforms

The UN weather agency is urging nations to urgently adopt reforms ahead of a looming water crisis.

 

More water-related hazards such as drought and floods are expected due to climate change.

More than 200,000 children abused by Catholic Church in France

India on the brink of a power crisis, with half the coal power plants on alert for outages across the country

New reports indicate that India is on the brink of a power crisis. The country only has enough coal stocks left for a few days, and could be battling an energy crisis for as long as six months.

This is the lowest level of fuel stock India has had in years, and more than half the coal power plants in the country are on alert for outages.

UK PM: GET BACK TO WORK

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says more Britons should return to work in their offices and workplaces.

NORD STREAM 2 FILLED WITH GAS

The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline has started being filled with gas.

Russia sends first film crew to space

New government in Ethiopia


Ethiopia has ushered in a new government.


Abiy Ahmed who was on  transitional rule has been sworn in as the new prime minister of the country. The federal parliament has accepted his nomination from his party, which now has a majority, after winning controversial July polls.

Cleanup Crews Try to Contain California Oil Spill

Cleanup crews in California are trying to contain a major oil spill near Los Angeles that has closed beaches and killed wildlife.

A new trove of documents has revealed the offshore deals and assets of 35 world leaders, hundreds of public officials and billionaires.

'The Pandora Papers' were leaked by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists or ICIJ in Washington.

Texas National Guard ‘gearing up’ at border
