Concerns over mass gatherings in India as threats of a third wave loom

Even though daily cases have stayed below the 40,000 mark for several days now, Indian officials are warning regional governments that this is no time for complacency.

Some estimates suggest that a third wave could hit India by the end of August.

Australia - Calls for greater effort as Covid cases continue to emerge

With lockdown measures being implemented across Australia, the number of locally acquired covid cases continues to rise in the state of New South Wales.


In the past 24 hours, the states police have issued more than 200 warnings and 64 infringement notices for breaches of lockdown orders.

China to Approve Use of BioNTech as First Overseas Shot

China is set to approve use of BionTech's COVID-19 vaccine, meaning it'll be the first shot developed overseas to be used on the mainland.

Sources also say it'll be used as a booster for people that have already been administered Chinese-made vaccines.

Ethiopia says No, to airdrops and external flights

Los Angeles Reinstates Indoor Mask Mandate

Los Angeles County will again require masks in indoor public places, amid a sharp rise in coronavirus cases.


The mandate comes a month after California lifted almost all of its restrictions.

EU launches legal proceedings against Hungary and Poland over LGBT rights clampdown

Cholera outbreak in Nigeria worsens


Nigeria is recording increasing cases of Cholera in different parts of the country.

A major review for the UK government is calling for a tax on sugary and salty food products - and the prescription of vegetables.

It says people need to eat less sugar, salt and meat to save lives and protect the National Health Service and the environment.
