TALIBAN ASSURES SURROUNDING COUNTRIES IT WILL RESPECT BORDERS

The Taliban has assured Russia it will not violate the Tajikistan or Uzbekistan border, as its forces continue seizing territory previously controlled by the Afghanistan government.

After meeting with Russian officials in Moscow, a Taliban spokesperson said Russia "was not worried" about the prospect of Taliban governance.

But Russia has not recalled a contingent of 6000 soldiers on their way to an ex-Soviet military base near the Tajik-Afghan border.

UK WORKING ON INTERNATIONAL VACCINE CERTIFICATION

The UK says it's working to relax travel restrictions for people who've been vaccinated in other countries.

On Thursday quarantine was dropped for Britons returning to the UK from most countries - if they've received two jabs from the National Health Service.

But many Brits who live abroad are angry they can't yet travel to their home country without isolating because of where they received vaccine doses.

It also means international tourism to the UK remains almost non-existant.

Australia - Health Minister alarmed as Delta strain continues to spread

Covid infections in the state of New South Wales have jumped again over night, recording 44 new locally acquired cases, with 27 of them moving around in the community while infectious.

No more quarantine for Brits fully-vaccinated in Britain when arriving from 'amber' risk countries
