German Chancellor to meet Biden at White House

Joe Biden is set to welcome German Chancellor Angela Merkel to the White House next month, making her the first European leader to visit Washington for in-person talks with the US President.

Australian court orders multimillion dollar payout for government debt collection scheme

An Australian Federal Court justice has slammed the governments Robodebt scheme, describing it as a "shameful chapter" in the countries history and a failure of public administration.


The scheme saw more than 400,00 Australians pursued by the countries social security provider Centerlink, for about $1.7 billion in welfare overpayments that were later found to be incorrect.
