European Parliament in favour of waiving COVID vaccine patents

European lawmakers have voted in favour of waiving patent restrictions on Covid-19 vaccines.

That puts the European Parliament at odds with the European Commission, which has been pushing for patent restrictions to remain, along with the UK, at the World Trade Organization.

India records the highest one day COVID related deaths in the world

India has recorded the highest single-day COVID-19 death toll in the world after an eastern state revised its numbers higher.
