France to allow non-essential travel as Covid-19 restrictions ease

Non-essential travel into France will also be allowed from certain countries today/from Wednesday/from 9 June as the government eases Covid-19 restrictions further.


The nationwide curfew is being relaxed and people will also now be able to eat inside cafes and restaurants.

EU and UK meet for crunch talks to end the impasse over implementation of Brexit divorce deal

Asylum seeker family pleads for help as sick daughter rushed to hospital

The Tamily family held in immigration detention in Australia since 2019 have made a plea for help so they can return to their home in the town of Biloela.



Three year old Tharnicaa Muruguppan was rushed to hospital this week, where she was diagnosed with pneumonia and sepsis allegedly caused by the unsuitable conditions in the detention centre on Christmas Island.

Hong Kong schools call for more data, after government lowers vaccination age limit

Hong Kong's health authorities are trying to reassure parents over the safety of COVID-19 vaccines for school children, after lowering the minimum age for receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech jab to 12. Cloud computing problems downs number of major websites

More than 800 arrested in encrypted messaging sting

More than 800 suspected criminals have been arrested worldwide after being tricked into using an FBI-run encrypted messaging app. 

The sting has led to the arrest of suspects from organised crime groups in 18 countries, including Australia, Asia and South America. 

The operation was coordinated by Europol - the EU's police agency - who described it as the "biggest ever law enforcement operation against encrypted communication."

UNICEF CALLS FOR STEADY SUPPLY OF VACCINES

Covid-19 vaccines will be wasted in their millions if donated to poorer countries in one go.

That's the warning from children's charity UNICEF which says rich nations should donate 20% of their vaccine supplies by August.
