Further restrictions across Japan as virus fourth wave spreads

The Japanese government is set to grant four more prefectures greater powers to take coronavirus countermeasures as daily infections continue to rise. The move would bring the total number of prefectures under a quasi-state of emergency to ten.

Chicago Officials Release Video of 13 Year-Old Shot by Police

Officials in the city of Chicago have released body camera footage of a 13 year-old boy being fatally shot by police.

The video threatens to further inflame nationwide tensions over police shootings.

Pfizer Says Booster Shot Likely Needed

Europe passes one million deaths from Covid-19

There have now been one million coronavirus deaths in Europe, according to the World Health Organisation who say the situation is still "serious" across the continent. 

Around 1.6million new cases are being reported each week.
