WHO warns global deaths from COVID-19 are on the rise again
Deaths from COVID-19 are on the rise again globally, linked directly to the steady rise in the number of new infections.
That’s the warning from the World Health Organization.

India has found a new "double mutant" variant of the coronavirus in the country, according to its health ministry.
This comes as India has seen its biggest one day spike in confirmed Covid-19 cases this year, as on Wednesday it reported more than 47,000 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking its total to more than 11.7 million.

Millions of South Sudanese people at risk of famine-UN
Millions of people in conflict-hit South Sudan are at risk of famine in the coming months or already facing it, two United Nations agencies warned on Tuesday.
