Former Ugandan warlord convicted of war crimes at the ICC

Former Ugandan warlord Dominic Ongwen has been convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity. 

A judge at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands, said Ongwen had ordered the killings and abductions of cilviians, including children.

UK trials will look into mixing vaccines for better results

Hundreds of people are being recruited for UK trials to see if different Covid-19 vaccines can be used for first and second doses.


The study will first look at whether it's effective and safe to combine the Pfizer jab with a later Oxford/AstraZeneca one, or vice-versa.


Researchers hope this will make the global rollout more flexible.

UK LAUNCHES VACCINE MIXING TRIAL

A UK trial is being launched on the mixing of covid-19 vaccines for first and second doses.

Scientists want to see if receiving different vaccines could boost protection for people, and also add flexibility to rollouts.

The study will start by mixing Pfizer and AstraZeneca jabs and may add other vaccines as they are approved by regulators.

Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi says it doesn't affect the immediate rollout of the vaccination programme.

Indian government slams Rihanna tweet supporting farmers

New Delhi has slammed statements made by pop star Rihanna and Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg in support of the ongoing farmers protest in India.

In a rare move, New Delhi accused the celebrities of putting out inaccurate and irresponsible tweets.

For more than two months now, tens of thousands of Indian farmers have been camped outside of Delhi protesting three new farm laws that bring in private investment to the sector.

Australia – Federal politician taken to task for anti vaccine posts

Australia's opposition Labour party has asked Facebook to monitor Liberal backbencher Craig Kelly's social media activity, after he posted information undermining his party's Covid response, and appeared as a guest on a notorious anti vaxxers podcast.

Hong Kong teachers' union protests mandatory COVID-19 testing plan
