US Accuses China of Genocide
The US State Department has declared Chinese policies on Uighurs (WE-gurs) and other mostly Muslim ethnic minorities in the northwestern region of Xingiang (SHIN-jaang) constitute "genocide" and "crimes against humanity."
The majority of the inhabitants of Xingiang are ethnically and culturally distinct from the Han Chinese majority.
