With favourable conditions expected to deliver a bumper crop, Australia's apple and pear growers fear they may not be able to complete the harvest due to covid inspired travel shutdowns.
Traditionally, much of the picking is done by international workers, primarily made up of backpackers, but travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic means that section of the workforce is unavailable.
