UK COVID-19 VACCINATIONS UNDERWAY

The UK's coronavirus vaccination programme is underway.

The first Pfizer-Biontech injection's been given to 90 year-old Margaret Keenan at University Hospital, Coventry.

She's one of thousands receiving jabs at dozens of hospitals across the country.

Biegun to visit Seoul, likely his final visit as point man on N. Korea

Dow falls, Nasdaq hits new record

The Nasdaq hit a new record high Monday in what was otherwise a mixed
start to the trading week with investors reacting to rising Covid-19

Iran says US sanctions preventing Covid-19 vaccine procurement


Iran has accused the United States of hampering its efforts to procure Covid-19 vaccines from an international vaccine facility led by the World Health Organisation.

Germany releases vaccination plan to explain who will be first to receive Covid-19 jab

German health authorities have released their draft strategy for who will be the first to get the Covid-19 vaccine. The proposals outline the list of priority groups within Germany's population of 83 million citizens.  The plan comes as European regulators signal they're getting closer to making a decision on whether the Pfizer vaccine can be administered to people across the EU.

Giuliani in hospital with Covid amid efforts to trace his contacts

Germany's Bavaria announces tough new coronavirus rules

India's Serum Institute seeks emergency use approval for AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine

The Serum Institute of India has applied for emergency use authorisation in the country for AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine, which it is manufacturing locally.

This comes after Pfizer on Saturday is understood to have applied for a similar authorisation.

Hong Kong police investigate former lawmaker in UK exile

Hong Kong police say a former opposition lawmaker who fled to the UK last week is a wanted fugitive, and have ordered part of his bank account to be frozen.

Ted Hui is being investigated over money laundering, and a possible breach of the national security law. 

Mr Hui denies wrongdoing, and is calling on financial regulators to investigate.
