Iran says US sanctions preventing Covid-19 vaccine procurement


Iran has accused the United States of hampering its efforts to procure Covid-19 vaccines from an international vaccine facility led by the World Health Organisation. 


The chief of Iran's central bank says US sanctions against the country is preventing money transfers for vaccine payment.

Germany releases vaccination plan to explain who will be first to receive Covid-19 jab

German health authorities have released their draft strategy for who will be the first to get the Covid-19 vaccine. The proposals outline the list of priority groups within Germany's population of 83 million citizens.  The plan comes as European regulators signal they're getting closer to making a decision on whether the Pfizer vaccine can be administered to people across the EU.

Some children are returning to New York City classrooms less than

Giuliani in hospital with Covid amid efforts to trace his contacts

India's Serum Institute seeks emergency use approval for AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine

The Serum Institute of India has applied for emergency use authorisation in the country for AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine, which it is manufacturing locally.

This comes after Pfizer on Saturday is understood to have applied for a similar authorisation.

India added almost 33,000 new Covid-19 infections in 24 hours on Monday, according to health ministry figures, bringing its total to close to 9.7 million confirmed cases.

Trump's lawyer says he's "ashamed" of Republican Party

President Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani says he's ashamed of the Republican Party after its lawmakers in Pennsylvania certified that Joe Biden won the Presidential election in the state.
