Tanzania opposition ACT-Wazalendo finally agrees to join Zanzibar’s unity government


ACT-Wazalendo, one two main opposition parties in Tanzania,  has finally agreed to be part of Zanzibar's Government of National Unity (GNU), ending nearly 40 days of uncertainty on the opposition party's part.

San Francisco Bay Area - New Shutdown Orders

The San Francisco Bay Area is not going to wait for the governor of California to issue strict new stay at home orders. 

Health officials for five Bay Area counties are implementing the new orders now, before intensive care units near capacity.

UN urges collaboration to ensure Covid-19 vaccines reach most vulnerable

Trump's lawyer says he's "ashamed" of Republican Party

President Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani says he's ashamed of the Republican Party after its lawmakers in Pennsylvania certified that Joe Biden won the Presidential election in the state.


The move is yet another setback in President Trump's attempt to prove the election was fraudulent.

UK DEFENDS VACCINE APPROVAL

France sets aside $1bn to fund Covid-19 vaccine programme

The French finance minister says more than a billion dollars will be made available to support the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccine.


The prime minister says the vaccine will be "free to all" and that the government aims to dispense 200 million doses across France.

Australia – PM overreacted to Chinese tweet

China's deputy ambassador to Australia says Prime Minister Scott Morrisons reaction to an inflammatory tweet by a Chinese official may have further damaged relations between the two countries.


Wang Xining told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that Mr Morrison, in calling for an apology from China for the tweet, has caused more chinese people to be aware of the contents of the Brereton Report into alleged Australian war crimes in Afghanistan.

S. Korea reports nine-month high of daily virus cases

Hong Kong former opposition lawmaker flees city to avoid prosecution

Legal experts in Hong Kong say the city's courts may tighten bail conditions for anti-government activists, after a prominent former opposition lawmaker announced he had fled the city to avoid prosecution. 

Former Democratic Party legislator Ted Hui made the announcement from Denmark, and said he would go to the UK soon.

California To Impose Stay at Home Orders
