New Lockdown Orders for California

Officials in the US state of California are reacting to a surge of Covid-19 cases with new lockdown orders.  

More people are in the hospital for the disease in California now than at any other time since the pandemic began.

Divided US Congress returns with coronavirus aid and government funding unresolved

US lawmakers return to Washington on Monday with just a few weeks left this year to pass a covid-19 relief package to help millions of Americans affected by the pandemic.


Congress must also agree on a spending bill to prevent a government shutdown before current funding runs out on December 11th.

UN says more than 100 killed in Boko Haram attack in Nigeria




The United Nations says the death toll of people killed by Boko Haram insurgents in Nigeria over the weekend has risen to more than a hundred.

They were reportedly killed in a farming community in the northeastern state of Borno.

Tanzania’s environmental management body calls for alternatives for plastic as December plastic ban looms closer

As the  December 31st  deadline for plastic packaging draws closer the National Environment Management Council has called for interested parties to present their views and advice to the Tanzania Bureau of Standards for alternative packing options.
