First black mayor of New York dies

The first black man to become mayor of New York has died.

David Dinkins was 93.

France condemns violence in Ethiopia

US Election appears to be over after top Trump official starts formal transition

The US election finally appears to be over after a key official within the Trump administration formally began the process of transition to a government headed by President-elect Joe Biden.


President Trump, on Twitter, said he will continue to fight to overturn the election's outcome, but he said he was authorizing the move by the General Services Administration of the US Government in the best interests of the country.

Five children on average killed or injured in Afghanistan in past 14 years, report finds

More than 26 thousand children have been killed or wounded in Afghanistan since 2004, according to UK-based charity Save the Children, in an alarming new report.
