Hong Kong eases COVID-19 travel restrictions in bid to boost economy

Hong Kong is easing its border restrictions as the number of daily Covid-19 cases in the city remains low. A travel bubble with Singapore will begin on November 22nd, and local media reports say Hong Kongers living in southern China will soon be able to return to the city without requiring quarantine.

Biden calls Trump's refusal to concede an "embarrassment"

President-Elect Joe Biden has called President Trump's refusal to concede the US election an "embarrassment".

 

Mr Biden was speaking to reporters in Delaware after delivering an address on the Supreme Court challenge to Obamacare.

Wall Street finished mixed as investors remain upbeat, but cautious

The Dow Jones jumped nearly 300 points before pulling back to close the day up by just under one percent, as investors cautiously rode the wave of encouraging news on the coronavirus front.

Boris Johnson calls Joe Biden after election win ... but congratulatory tweet revealed to show 'Trump' underneath

As US Covid cases surpass 10.1M, HHS Azar says Pfizer's vaccine may be available by year-end

A Covid-19 vaccine may be ready for the most vulnerable Americans by the end of the year, and for the general population in the spring next year, the top official at the US health department told NBC's "Today" show Tuesday. 


Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said US drugmaker Pfizer is ramping up production of its promising vaccine to deliver 20 million doses by the end of November. 


The news comes as the total number of confirmed Covid-19 infections in the US surpassed ten-point-one million.

UK NHS READIED FOR DECEMBER PFIZER VACCINE ROLL-OUT

The UK's National Health Service is being told to be ready to roll out the Pfizer BioNtech covid-19 vaccine from the start of December.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock says he expects the majority of vaccination will take place in early 2021.

But he's providing new funding so vaccination clinics can be open seven days a week.

The UK's ordered 40 million doses of the vaccine, which still needs to secure regulatory approval before it can be used.
