His campaign released a statement as Joe Biden was projected to become
the next President.

Biden: “We’re going to win this race”

Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden has addressed supporters in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, saying that he expects to win the presidency as he closes in on the 270 electoral college votes needed to defeat Donald Trump. US media outlets haven't called the race yet, even as Biden's lead widens in the state of Pennsylvania. However, the former Vice President says he's already begun focussing on the work ahead and that he believes that the presidential contest is all but over.

Philadelphia mayor tells Trump 'to put his big boy pants on'; Biden prepares to speak

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is preparing to deliver a prime-time address at 9pm EST [02:00 GMT] in what’s expected to be a victory speech.


His vice-presidential running mate, Kamala Harris is also expected to speak.


The bitter race has not yet been called, but Joe Biden holds leads over President Donald Trump in several key states.

UK Covid-19 rates "stabilising," says country's statistics body

The increase in coronavirus infections is slowing around the UK, according to the Office for National Statistics.

Ethiopia outlines rule of state of emergency in its Northern region
