Europe imposes new restrictions as case numbers surge

Italy has become the latest European country to impose new measures to combat a second wave of the coronavirus, with nearly 12,000 cases reported on Sunday.

Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, says the training for a new police tactical team, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) will commence on Monday.

The new SWAT unit was set-up to replace the now defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit, which millions of Nigerians have forced the government to scrap after years of alleged police brutality.

India crosses 7.55 million confirmed COVID 19 cases

Trump criticized for Michigan Governor "lock her up" chants

Democrats have criticized chants at a Trump rally to lock up the Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer. 

The President's supporters chanted that Whitmer should be jailed for closing parts of the state's economy to deal with COVID-19.

Whitmer, who was recently the target of a right-wing militia plot to kidnap and execute her, told NBC the President should have silenced the chants.
