France brings in night-time Covid-19 curfew in Paris and major cities

Paris, Marseille and seven other major cities in France will be placed under a night-time curfew, from 9pm to 6am as the country battles a second wave of new Covid-19 infections.


President Macron made the announcement in a television interview on Wednesday, saying the situation in French hospitals is now 'very worrying'.

WALES TO BAN TRAVEL FROM UK HIGHLY INFECTED AREAS

Wales will no longer allow entry to travellers from parts of the UK with high rates of coronavirus infection.

The First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford, says it's needed to "prevent the spread of infection within Wales".

French minister touts 15th November as a possible Brexit deadline

A Brexit no-deal scenario is becoming very likely, according to the French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.

The minister suggested November 15th as a new deadline for the trade talks, a month after the UK's date of October 15th. 

The comments come as EU27 leaders prepare to meet in Brussels for a critical summit.

BARRICK GOLD PAYS TANZANIA $40 MILLION DOLLARS AS PART OF $300 MILLION PAYOUT

A joint venture between Barrick Gold and the Tanzanian government has paid $ 40 million dollars to the Government of Tanzania.

 

The payment by Twiga Minerals Corp is part of the $300 million settlement between Tanzania and Barrick Gold to end a tax dispute. Barrick Gold paid the first installment of $100 million in May.

Wall Street loses ground amid setbacks for Covid-19 treatments
