Dozens of US politicians and aides are being tested for COVID-19 after
President Donald Trump tested positive for the virus.

It throws his presidential campaign into turmoil with just a month
until election day.

Hiring slows in last jobs report before U.S. elections

The final jobs report released before the U.S. presidential elections
shows the pace of hiring in the country has slowed.

But the unemployment rate has fallen to 7.9 percent which is more than
analysts expected.

Hope for ceasefire emerges as fighting on Azeri-Armenian border continues

Fighting on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, former soviet republics has intensified, with more casualties reported on Friday. Yerevan indicated it's ready to discuss a ceasefire with international mediators, while refusing to negotiate with Baku and its ally Turkey, whom it accused of waging a large-scale aggression against the Armenian people. Uganda Stops Repeat Tests For COVID-19 Patients

As Uganda struggles with surging COVID-19 cases, the health Ministry says it's stopped repeat tests for recovering patients.

Repeat tests are normally done to check whether the virus has completely been eliminated from the body.

The country has run out of hospital beds for COVID-19 patients and is trying to free space for the increasing cases.

India crosses 6.39 million COVID 19 cases

COVID-19 cases in India continue to rise at a fast pace as the country moves into the fifth phase of reopening the economy.

The country added more than 81,000 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country's total caseload to over 6.39 million.

California to Consider Reparations for Slavery

California has passed a law creating a task force to explore how the state might provide reparations for slavery.

US jobless claims remain under 1 million but thousands more layoffs to come

The number of people claiming unemployment insurance for the first time in the US, has remained under a million for the fifth consecutive week.


But at 873,000, the total is still well above anything the U.S. had seen since before the pandemic.


More recently announced layoffs suggest the labor market is going to become weaker after several months of gains.
