India crosses 6.39 million COVID 19 cases

COVID-19 cases in India continue to rise at a fast pace as the country moves into the fifth phase of reopening the economy.

The country added more than 81,000 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country's total caseload to over 6.39 million.

TRUMP AND MELANIA POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania have tested positive for coronavirus.

The US President's confirmed their results in a tweet, and says they'll now start their "quarantine and recovery process immediately".

Mr Trump and the first lady had already been self-isolating after one of his top aides contracted Covid-19.

Scott Lucas of the University of Birmingham says it has an immediate effect on the election campaign.

California to Consider Reparations for Slavery

California has passed a law creating a task force to explore how the state might provide reparations for slavery.


It's the first bill of its kind in any US state.

US jobless claims remain under 1 million but thousands more layoffs to come

The number of people claiming unemployment insurance for the first time in the US, has remained under a million for the fifth consecutive week.


But at 873,000, the total is still well above anything the U.S. had seen since before the pandemic.


More recently announced layoffs suggest the labor market is going to become weaker after several months of gains.

Study finds Trump "largest driver" of COVID-19 misinformation

EU announces legal action against the UK on Brexit deals infringments

The EU has announced it's taking legal action against the UK over controversial plans to undercut the Brexit divorce treaty.

Navalny blames Putin for poisoning

INTRO Aleksey Navalny says he is convinced that Russian President Vladimir Putin was behind his suspected poisoning. The Kremlin critic made the claim in his first interview after the incident which he gave to the German magazine "Der Spiegel". A major study suggests around one in every 200 people in England is infected with coronavirus.

Imperial College London have looked at samples from 84 000 people.

Australia – Abuse victim to sue again.
