UN investigators: rights violations in Venezuela amount to "crimes against humanity"

A United Nations Human Rights Council investigation alleges that Venezuelan authorities including President Nicolas Maduro and security forces committed egregious violence against their citizens that amount to crimes against humanity. 


The independent fact-finding mission investigated more than 200 cases and reviewed nearly 3000 others to corroborate information.

ECOWAS fails to reach agreement with Mali Army leader

Belarusian opposition offers Lukashenko security guarantees

UK rescues child from Syria caught up in Islamic State conflict

The UK has rescued a British child from Syria as part of an effort to help bring back minors left stranded in the fallout from the conflict with the militant group Islamic State.


Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab tweeted on Wednesday that "safely facilitating the return of orphans or unaccompanied British children, where possible, is the right thing to do."

UK GOVT UNDER FIRE OVER TESTING

The UK government is to prioritise coronavirus testing for healthcare workers and patients, and people in care homes.

Ethiopia starts repatriating citizens from Saudi Arabia
