Deadly wildfires are burning throughout the Western United States.The Governor of Oregon is warning this could be the greatest loss of human lives and property due to wildfire in the state's history.

EU WARNS UK TO DROP PROPOSED BILL OR FACE LEGAL ACTION

The European Union says the UK must scrap a proposed law which would override parts of their withdrawal agreement.

The bill is designed to allow no new checks between Northern Ireland and Great Britain if a trade deal is not reached between the two sides - an outcome dubbed 'no deal'.

But the EU says that would be an "extremely serious violation" of the agreement the UK and EU signed in January -- and of international law.

Game of Thrones star Dame Diana Rigg dies, aged 82

Game of Thrones actress Dame Diana Rigg has died at the age of 82.


The BAFTA and Emmy winner, who starred as James Bond's only wife back in the 1960s, passed away peacefully on Thursday, surrounded by her family.

UK AND EU HOLD EMERGENCY TALKS

The UK and EU are holding emergency talks in London on Thursday over legislation which could override parts of the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement.

The UK says it's necessary as a contingency if no trade deal is reached with the EU.

But Brussels says trust has been damaged, as talks on that trade deal also continue in London.

A Brexit transition period concludes at the end of this year, by which time both sides had said they wanted a trade agreement in place.

India crosses 4.46 million COVID 19 cases

India reported a jump of nearly 96,000 fresh coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking the country's caseload past 4.46 million infections.

The country has also recorded more than 1100 deaths in the last 24 hours which is the highest single-day mortality figure, pushing the total death toll to beyond 75,000.
