The Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell has announced that the central
bank is updating its policy on inflation in a bid to boost the labor
market.

It comes on a day when fresh data shows that another million Americans
filed for first time unemployment benefits last week.

Walmart joins Microsoft in TikTok Bid

The American retail giant Walmart says it is joining Microsoft in its bid to purchase the popular video sharing app Tik Tok.


Tik Tok, which is owned by the Chinese company Byte Dance, is expected to sell to an American buyer in order to continue its US operations because of pressure from the Trump administration.

3 KENYAN PLANES BANNED FROM TANZANIAN AIR SPACE

Three more Kenyan airlines have been banned in Tanzania as the two countries' apparent standoff over management of the Covid-19 pandemic continues. The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority issued the ban against AirKenya Express, Fly540, and Safarilink Aviation. This comes as China just released a statement requiring all travelers from Tanzania to obtain a negative COVID-19 certificate before entering the country.

UK announces further quarantine rules -- this time on arrivals from Switzerland, Czechia and Jamaica

Rolls-Royce has announced record losses as the COVID-19 pandemic reduced demand for air travel.

Attack in Eastern DR Congo Leaves 20 Dead

West African leaders insist on 1 year transition period as against Mali junta's 3year request

CHRISTCHURCH KILLER SENTENCED TO LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE

Brenton Tarrant, who killed 51 people at two mosques in Christchurch, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

He's the first person in New Zealand's history to receive such a sentence.

The 29 year-old had admitted murdering 51 people, attempting to murder 40 more, and a charge of terrorism.

He had livestreamed the attacks last March, and the judge described his actions as 'inhuman.'
