China honors ex-Houston consulate staff in ceremony

China has honoured ex-consulate staff that returned from Houston at a ceremony in Beijing.

Last month the US abruptly ordered China to close the consulate and called it a hub of spying.

S&P closes up but just shy of record close

It was a mixed start to start the trading week on Wall Street with the
S&P 500 ending the day up but just shy of a record close.

The tech sector was a standout performer with electric car maker Tesla
closing the day up more than 10 percent.

LA Schools Launch Testing Program

The Los Angeles school district is launching a coronavirus testing and contact tracing program for all students, staff, and their families. 

This comes as coronavirus infection rates continue to spike, and school districts across the United States reconsider their plans to reopen.

Uganda: Foreigners to Pay For COVID-19 Tests

France has registered more than 6,000 new coronavirus cases over the weekend, as the surge in infections across the country continues.

NZ ELECTION POSTPONED


New Zealand's election has been postponed by a month after a spike in coronavirus cases.

The vote's being moved from 19th September to 17th October.

The country's largest city, Auckland, is in lockdown with 58 cases linked to a cluster there.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says the new election date allows parties to plan better for a campaign carried out under unusual circumstances.

Malaysia detects a COVID19 strain with links to India

Malaysia has detected a strain of coronavirus that is believed to be ten times more infectious. The strain was found in a cluster that started from a man who'd returned from India.

Hong Kong prepares for mass public COVID-19 testing
