Brussels the new 'centre of gravity' for Belgium's Covid-19 spike

France registers more than 6,000 new coronavirus cases over weekend

France has registered more than 6,000 new coronavirus cases over the weekend, as the surge in infections across the country continues.

Towns and cities across the country are extending the regulations over face masks, with many making them compulsory in outdoor areas.

NZ ELECTION POSTPONED


New Zealand's election has been postponed by a month after a spike in coronavirus cases.

The vote's being moved from 19th September to 17th October.

The country's largest city, Auckland, is in lockdown with 58 cases linked to a cluster there.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says the new election date allows parties to plan better for a campaign carried out under unusual circumstances.

Malaysia detects a COVID19 strain with links to India

Malaysia has detected a strain of coronavirus that is believed to be ten times more infectious. The strain was found in a cluster that started from a man who'd returned from India.

India recorded more than 58,000 fresh COVID19 cases on Monday even as the total number of infections in the country has crossed 2.6 million.

Exiled opposition leader says she's ready to lead Belarus

Hong Kong prepares for mass public COVID-19 testing

Hong Kong is preparing for city-wide mass testing, in a bid to further stabilize the spread of the coronavirus. On Sunday the city reached two straight weeks of fewer than 100 new daily cases, but there are concerns about an outbreak  at the city's cargo port.

Pelosi calls lawmakers back to vote on Post Office changes
