Losses on Wall Street with major losses for the tech sector

It was a bad day of trading Tuesday for some major tech firms with
traders instead focusing on firms that benefit more from the country's
economic reopening.

Florida has posted a record daily coronavirus death toll but infection
rates do appear to be declining across the U.S.

TANZANIA AWARDED SAFE TRAVELS AWARD

Tanzania has been awarded the Safe travel stamp by the World Travel and Tourism Council.

The stamp was given as recognition of the safety protocols introduced by the Government of Tanzania to ensure the safety of domestic and international travelers.

 

The tourism sector contributes almost 17.2 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 25 percent of all forex revenues.

Ghanaian students intensify calls for schools to reopen

In Ghana, calls for schools to reopen amid the coronavirus pandemic are intensifying. The government shutdown all schools in March to curb the spread of COVID-19. As the next academic year, which starts in September approaches, many students want the government to allow schools to reopen.

UN Security Council to vote on extending Iran arms embargo

The United Nations Security Council is expected to vote this week on a controversial U.S. proposal to extend an arms embargo on Iran indefinitely.


Council diplomats fear it could threaten what's left of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal that limits Tehran's nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief.

US orders Hong Kong goods to carry 'Made in China' label

Big companies seek to hire 100,000 minority, low income New Yorkers

UK employment level declines by biggest amount in over a decade

Employment in the UK has fallen by the largest amount in more than a decade. 


The number of people in work decreased by 220,000 between April and June, according to the Office for National Statistics -- that's the largest quarterly decrease since the financial crisis of 2009.

Uganda Jails Security Officials for Spying for Rwanda

US EPA to roll back rules on methane emissions

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is issuing new rules this week to remove restrictions on methane gas emissions for America's oil and gas companies, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.
