Congolese Shot in Rwanda

Police in the Rwandan capital Kigali have shot dead a Congolese national suspected of being involved in human trafficking.

UK oil company BP sees record losses

UK oil giant BP, one of the largest oil companies in the world, has reported a record $6.7bn loss, as energy demand plummets amid the coronavirus pandemic. 


The second quarter loss was partly a result of the firm's decision to wipe $6.5bn off the value of oil and gas exploration assets back in June in light of the impact of COVID-19.

Curfew imposed in Indian administered Kashmir

The Indian government has imposed a two-day curfew in Kashmir ahead of the one year anniversary of the revocation of the region's special status.

On August 5 last year, India converted Kashmir- India's only Muslim majority state- into a territory governed by the federal government in Delhi. Kashmir is governed in parts by India and Pakistan but claimed in full by both.
