US inks $2.1 billion vaccine deal

The US government has agreed to pay two drug companies up to 2.1 billion dollars to develop and produce one hundred million doses of a coronavirus vaccine.


The deal with the companies Sanofi [SA NO FEE] and Glaxo Smith Kline comes as cases continue to surge across the country.

Unemployed Americans Prepare for Drop in Benefits

Ghislaine Maxwell court papers released

NEW CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS IN NORTHERN ENGLAND

Separate households are now banned from meeting indoors in Greater Manchester, and other regions of northern England after a rise in coronavirus cases.

India sees record daily surge in Covid-19 infections

India has seen yet another record daily spike in its number of coronavirus cases, with more than 55,000 fresh infections recorded in the past 24 hours, according to data released by the country's ministry of health on Friday.

This comes as the government has permitted further easing of the country's lockdown restrictions from the beginning of August.

Ex-US presidents honor civil rights icon John Lewis

Former US.presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush have all paid tribute to late US congressman John Lewis at his memorial service.
