Senior Government Officials in Uganda Face 24 Fresh Charges Over COVID-19 Food Scam

Four senior officials working with the Prime Minister's Office in Uganda have been slapped with fresh charges for flouting procurement procedures while purchasing COVID-19 relief food.

They face 24 charges for falsely awarding tenders to several companies to supply COVID-19 relief food worth about $8.5million.

AUSTRALIA SUSPENDS HK EXTRADITION AGREEMENT

Australia has suspended its extradition treaty with Hong Kong.

It's in response to China's decision to impose a national security law for the territory, which pro-democracy campaigners say is designed to target them.

Beijing insists it's to help bring order to Hong Kong after months of sometimes violent protests.

Australia's prime minister Scott Morrison is also allowing those from Hong Kong to stay in his country for longer.

The UK government's facing criticism over some of the sectors and areas not helped in Wednesday's economic support package.

Russian campaigners searched in their homes

Opposition campaigners in Russia say police have conducted dawn raids in their homes, the latest of a number of actions against activists and journalists in the last week. On Tuesday an ex-newspaper reporter was arrested on suspicion of treason, a case his lawyers said was the first against a journalist in almost two decades. S. Korea arrests members of church tied to major Covid-19 outbreak

South Korea prosecutors have arrested three members of a church where the country experienced its first major outbreak of the coronavirus. They've been charged with obstructing justice and inciting destruction of evidence.

US Supreme Court Ruling on Birth Control Coverage

The United States Supreme Court has upheld a Trump administration regulation that lets employers with religious or moral objections limit women's access to birth control coverage. 

According to government estimates, more than 120 thousand women could lose contraceptive coverage because of the ruling.

US covid cases hit new record

Covid 19 cases in the United States have topped 3 million… with more than 60 thousand new infections reported Tuesday, per data from Johns Hopkins University.

United Airlines Warns Employees Of Possible Furloughs

UK Finance Minister delivers huge spending promises to boost economy after coronavirus lockdown
