Nasdaq hits new highs on signs of economic recovery

The Nasdaq posted new highs Tuesday buoyed by signs the U.S. economic
recovery is picking up steam.

Traders were also calmed by reassurances that the trade deal with
China is still in tact.

Trump visits Arizona as coronavirus cases in the state surge

EU May Ban American Travellers When It Reopens

The European Union may bar travellers from the US, Russia, and Brazil,  when it reopens its borders on July 1st. 

The New York Times is reporting it has seen draft lists of countries identified as safe and, according to the Times, the US, Russia, and Brazil are not on those lists.

Jailed 'spy' in Russia to seek prisoner swap with 'Merchant of Death'

The former US marine jailed in Russia for espionage has not appealed against his conviction - and his lawyer is looking at the merits of a presidential pardon and prisoner swap. Fauci contradicts Trump saying Coronavirus testing will increase; vaccine possible by end of year; disturbing infection surge in some states

America's top infectious disease expert says he's cautiously optimistic that coronavirus vaccines may be ready for testing by the end of the year. 


During congressional testimony Dr. Anthony Fauci described a "disturbing surge in infections" in a number of states and said testing would be expanded, not slowed down as President Donald Trump has suggested in recent days.

ENGLAND HOSPITALITY, LEISURE, TOURISM TO REOPEN JULY

UK prime minister, Boris Johnson, says from the beginning of next month England's hospitality, tourism and leisures industries can start to reopen.

There will be some limitations, and not all businesses are included.

Trump threatens to arrest anyone trying to remove statues

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to jail anyone caught
trying to remove statues or monuments.

Since the death of George Floyd there have been growing calls for
statues deemed to be racist to be removed.

Fears rise of a second wave in Europe

UK TO REOPEN PUBS, RESTAURANTS

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce later that many pubs, cinemas, restaurants, galleries and museums can reopen from July 4th.

He's also due to set out new guidelines on social distancing, which will feed into plans to reopen sectors of the economy closed because of Covid-19.

The government may relax current guidance which requires people keep 2 metres away from others.

Indian Army: India and China will disengage in Ladakh

India says its border talks with China were 'positive' and that both sides have agreed to disengage in Ladakh.

This is the second time that military leaders from both countries held talks after last week's violent face-off in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed.

India-China hold border talks after deadly clash

Indian and Chinese military leaders held marathon talks on Monday to discuss the ongoing border stand-off in the Ladakh region of the Himalayas.

Sources say no headway has been made even as diplomatic talks are expected later this week.

Exactly one week ago, India and Chinese soldiers clashed in Ladakh. 20 Indian soldiers were killed- the deadliest face-off along the shared border in nearly 50 years.

South Sudan says it will pay African Union


South Sudan says it is working to pay the fees it owes the African Union and other regional organisations. 

The country has been suspended by the continental body for failing to make annual contributions amounting to having accumulated arrears of over 9 million dollars.

Trump Issuing Order Limiting Foreign Workers
