Russia admits nearly 500 medics died of COVID-19

Russian health officials have for the first time revealed the number of medical workers who have died from coronavirus. 489 doctors, nurses and paramedics have lost their lives treating patients throughout the pandemic. Julia Chapman has more from Moscow.

VERA LYNN DIES AT 103

Dame Vera Lynn, whose songs helped raise morale in World War Two, has died aged 103. The singer's family confirmed "the passing of one of Britain's best-loved entertainers" on Thursday morning. 


The Forces' Sweetheart was known for hits such as We'll Meet Again.

Uganda Drug Authority Warns Against Dexamethasone

Uganda's National Drug Authority has warned the public against buy of dexamethasone, the drug the UK government says has shown effectiveness in the treatment of COVID-19.

MACRON IN LONDON FOR TALKS

French President Emmanuel Macron visits London later (on Thursday) for World War Two commemorations and talks with Boris Johnson.

The two leaders will have socially distanced meetings to discuss the response to the coronavirus pandemic.

It's expected they'll also hold discussions on so-called 'air bridges' - exemptions to the UK's current quarantine for international arrivals.

India and China to hold military talks following deadly border clash

Indian and Chinese military officers are holding talks following deadly border clashes which took place on Monday in which at least 20 Indian soldiers were killed.

Beijing Reports Drop in New COVID Cases on Thursday


The number of new cases of COVID infections in Beijnig's fresh wave of the disease have fallen.

Charges brought against officer who shot Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta

The former police officer who fatally shot Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta will be charged with felony murder and 10 other charges.

Garret Rolfe shot Brooks, an African American man, outside a Wendy's restaurant as he ran away to escape arrest last week.

Bolton book assails Trump's Presidency

"Boogaloo Boy" Charged with Murder of Security Guard
