Brussels Airlines to cut 25% of workforce

Brussels Airlines is the latest carrier forced to reorganize in order to stay afloat. Belgium's largest airline has announced deep cuts to its workforce and fleet size after the coronavirus pandemic forced the grounding of all of its planes since mid-March. Toni Waterman has more from Brussels.

Bars and restaurants to reopen in Italy from May 18th

Bars, restaurants, hairdressers and beauticians will reopen across Italy from next week. 

The reopening of some of the hospitality sector was planned for June 1st, but has been brought forward to due pressure from regional leaders. 

Spain has ordered a two-week quarantine for all overseas travellers from May 15th.

A million children head back to school in France

One million children are returning to school today/Tuesday as France enters its second day of the lockdown-easing plan announced by the government.

The day before, on Monday, teachers returned to schools to prepare for pupils coming back.

Five killed in Russian COVID hospital fire

UK SETS OUT GUIDANCE FOR RE-OPENING WORKPLACES

The UK government has published new guidance for workplaces to become 'Covid Secure' so some employees can return to their jobs.

The UK is now encouraging people who can't work from home to go back to work if it's safe to do so.

Britain's lockdown restrictions have been extended, but Prime Minister Boris Johnson wants more companies to reopen while following existing guidelines.

Employers will have to carry out risk assessments before they open their doors.

Employment lawyer Kathleen Heycock says it won't be easy to get all employees back in the office.

India partially opens its railway network; 15 trains to resume operations

Interpol issues arrest warrant for US diplomat's wife over British teen killing

Interpol has issued an international arrest warrant for Anne Sacoolas- the wife of an American diplomat who is accused of killing a British teenager in a reckless driving accident in the UK.

Anne Sacoolas left the UK shortly after the crash that killed 19 year old Harry Dunn last August, and invoked diplomatic immunity.

The issue has been a sticking point in US-UK relations ever since.
