Russia becomes world's fifth-largest coronavirus outbreak

Russia has overtaken Germany and France to become the fifth largest coronavirus outbreak in the world. With no sign of infections slowing, the mayor of Moscow has extended the city's lockdown until the end of May. Julia Chapman has more.

Children of Miners in DR Congo Exposed to Copper and Cobalt Toxins

INTRO:

A research conducted by a University in the Democratic Republic of Congo suggests that exposure to toxic pollution is causing birth defects in the children of copper and cobalt miners in the southeast of the country.

The researchers found that children whose parents were working in the mines in Katanga were born with limb abnormalities and other defects.

Key coronavirus PPE ordered from Turkey fails to meet UK standards

Up to 400,000 surgical gowns ordered from Turkey by the UK do not meet safety standards.

BANK OF ENGLAND FORECASTS GREATEST DROP IN GDP FOR 300 YEARS

The Bank of England is forecasting the deepest recession on record, in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The economy seems to be on track for a 14% decline - if the lockdown is relaxed by June.

That'll be the biggest annual fall in 300 years.

Floods, Landslides Kill 194 in Kenya

Losses on Wall Street following jobs data

Sentiment on Wall Street was dampened Wednesday following the release
