Asian Development Bank loans India $1.5 billion to fight COVID 19

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and fiancée Carrie Symonds announce birth of baby boy

Prime Minister Boris Johnson (55) and his fiancée Carrie Symonds (32) have announced the birth of a "healthy baby boy."

 

Both mother and baby are "doing very well" following the birth at a London hospital on Wednesday morning.

UK TESTING ELIGIBILITY EXPANDS

Coronavirus testing in the UK is available to millions more people from today (Wednesday).

The government has widened the eligibility for tests to include all care home residents and staff, anyone over 65, and people who can't work from home.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock had pledged to hit 100 000 daily tests by the end of the month, but the latest number in a 24 hour period was just over 43 000.

France sets out plans to ease lockdown on May 11

France will begin to ease its coronavirus lockdown from May 11 after MPs voted through the government's plan on Tuesday.
