668 sailors test positive for the coronavirus in French aircraft carrier group

More than 660 sailors who were crew members either on-board France's sole aircraft carrier or other ships in her battle group have tested positive for the coronavirus.

It comes after the outbreak was confirmed at sea and the ships have now returned to port.

UK TO EXTEND LOCKDOWN

The UK is expected to confirm a three week extension later (Thursday) to its coronavirus lockdown.

The government has already said it's too early to ease lockdown measures which have been in place over three weeks.

UK scientific advisers believe the country is reaching the peak of its outbreak, but want to ensure it has passed before the strictest social distancing rules are relaxed in any way.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock says even when the peak is reached - lockdown will only be gradually eased.

Adding Trump's signature to stimulus cheques could delay aid

The US treasury department has ordered that President Donald Trump's name will be printed on cheques being sent to millions of Americans to help stimulate the economy during the Coronavirus pandemic. 

The process could delay their delivery to people struggling financially, according to reports in the Washington Post.
