Trump to announce reopening of economy for several states

President Trump says he is finalising guidelines for several states to reopen their economies and will announce those measures on Thursday.

He was speaking at the daily press briefing of the coronavirus taskforce.

Adding Trump's signature to stimulus cheques could delay aid

The US treasury department has ordered that President Donald Trump's name will be printed on cheques being sent to millions of Americans to help stimulate the economy during the Coronavirus pandemic. 

The process could delay their delivery to people struggling financially, according to reports in the Washington Post.

Death toll leaps in New York following revised count

US retail sales drop record 8.7%

COVID-19 closures and lockdowns caused U.S. retail sales to drop by a
record 8.7% in March.
