Public Health England failed to quickly increase coronavirus testing, says UK's Chief Scientific Advisor

The British government's Chief Scientific Advisor has admitted that coronavirus testing in the UK should have been ramped up more quickly.

European countries begin to loosen lockdown measures

Italy and Austria are taking tentative steps to relax lockdown measures this week, with some shops including bookshops, DIY stores and garden centres allowed to reopen. 

Schools and nurseries are allowed to reopen in Denmark, one of the first countries to impose strict lockdown measures.
