US travel restrictions "not seriously discussed"

Top US health official Dr. Anthony Fauci [PRON: FOW-chee] says the
American government is not yet considering domestic travel
restrictions.

The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious
Diseases said flights within the US will continue for now but the
situation will be reassessed.

The Trump administration recently banning flights from 28 European countries.

US election: Biden will pick female vice president

US Presidential hopeful Joe Biden says he will pick a woman as his
vice president.

The Democrat frontrunner made the announcement during his first
head-to-head televised debate with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Due to the coronavirus the debate was held in a TV studio with just
ten other people in the room, rather than in front of a live audience.

Trump praises Fed 0% rate cut

US President Donald Trump has praised the Federal Reserve's decision
to cut interest rates to zero.

The surprise announcement also came with a $700 billion dollar
quantitative easing program to help the US economy avoid a recession
amid the coronavirus pandemic.

It's a move President Trump has been urging for some time.

Markets rebound after historic losses

UK cancels elections amid coronavirus concerns

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has decided to postpone the local government and Mayoral elections in May, since they would have coincided with the peak of the coronavirus outbreak, potentially exposing people at its most dangerous point.

 

It comes just hours after all professional football in Britain was suspended until at least 3rd April as a result of the spread of COVID-19.

US stocks plunge as Trump's coronavirus speech fails to soothe investors

The New York Stock Exchange has suffered its biggest one-day loss since the 1987 stock market crash, ending the day down nearly ten per cent in value.


The US Federal Reserve is preparing to pump $1.5 trillion in short-term liquidity into the economy in a bid to stabilize the markets.
