Bloomberg drops out of Presidential race

The former Mayor of New New York is pulling out of the Presidential
race and is endorsing Joe Biden.

The announcement comes a day after a disappointing performance on
Super Tuesday when Democrats in 14 states voted for who they want to
challenge President Trump in November's general election.

The former Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg, is ending his campaign for the US Presidency after a disastrous showing on Super Tuesday.


He says that he's endorsing former Vice President Joe Biden as the best candidate to take on Donald Trump this November.

U.S. air strike on Taliban in Afghanistan


The U.S. military conducted an air strike on Taliban fighters in Afghanistan, just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump spoke to a Taliban leader on the phone.

Washington and the Taliban signed an agreement over the weekend, aimed at laying the groundwork for a peace deal.

Ethiopia/ Egypt Raw

Intro 
Ethiopia and the United States are accusing each other of being " undiplomatic" in a row over the controversial construction of a major dam on the River Nile.

This follows a decision by Ethiopia not to participate in US led talks with Egypt and Sudan held on 27th and 28th February in Washington.

Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt were set to sign an agreement to guide Ethiopia's operation of its 6000MW dam on 28th February.

The US said no filing of the dam reservoirs should happen without an agreement and Ethiopia has responded saying the US has no right to make such demands.

Germany bans protective mask exports over coronavirus fears

Germany says it will halt the export of masks and other protective medical gear to avoid domestic shortages as a result of the coronavirus epidemic.


The country has now recorded over 200 confirmed cases of the virus.

A major public health campaign has been launched in Britain as part of the government's "action plan" against Covid-19.  

Adverts reinforce the message that handwashing is the single most important thing people can do to limit the spread.

UN Human rights head to appeal against the citizenship law at the Supreme Court

TWO MORE COVID-19 CASES IN UK

Another two cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Scotland - taking the UK's total to 53.

The UK government is launching a public health campaign to encourage people to wash their hands more.

Hospitals are also being urged to carry out more video-based consultations.

The government has warned the Covid-19 outbreak in the UK is likely to spread much further.

Before all the Super Tuesday democratic primary votes had been counted one of the five remaining Candidates, Mike Bloomberg, suggested he'd stay in the race regardless of the outcome.

Million of democratic voters cast their ballots in 14 states across the US in the biggest day of the 2020 election season so far.

Super Tuesday was the first time Bloomberg has put his name on the ballot choosing to ignore the opening primary contests but spending 500 million dollars of his own money on a far-reaching advertising campaign

Super Tuesday voting underway in US

Millions of Americans are heading to the polls as Democrats in fourteen states and one US territory vote for the candidate they want to see challenge Donald Trump for the presidency.

Bernie Sanders is the current frontrunner but former vice president Joe Biden is gaining momentum with two other moderate candidates pulling out of the race and endorsing him.

The other centrist - billionaire Mike Bloomberg - has spent hundreds of millions of dollars on advertising in Super Tuesday voting states.
