T-Mobile-Sprint Merger Within Touching Distance

A merger between Telecom giants T-Mobile US and Sprint is within touching distance.

That's according to T-Mobile's majority stake holder, Deutsche Telekom.

The comments come as the German telco reported record profits on Wednesday, boosted by a bumper year for its American unit.

New post-immigration plans unveiled by UK government

Low-skilled workers will not receive visas under post-Brexit immigration plans unveiled by the UK government.


Employers are being urged to "move away" from relying on "cheap labour" from the European Union and instead invest in retaining staff or developing automation technology.


But the UK's opposition parties say the new rules would create a "hostile environment" that makes it hard to attract workers.

World Bank approves $2.2 billion loan for Nigeria


The World Bank has approved about $2.2 billion loan for Nigeria to invest in several projects that will develop the country's economy and improve the standard of living of its citizens.

With this new loan, the country's foreign and domestic debt rises to over $80 billion.

WFP Expresses Fear Over Decreasing Food Stocks For Refugees in Uganda

Russia to ban entry for Chinese citizens over coronavirus

Jury deliberations begin in Weinstein trial

A jury has begun deliberations in the trial of media mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Weinstein has pleaded not guilty to five felony charges including rape
and predatory sexual assault.

Boy Scouts of America files for bankruptcy

The Boy Scouts of America has filed for bankruptcy as it deals with a wave of lawsuits over allegations of sexual abuse.

HSBC ANNOUNCE JOB LOSSES

HSBC, one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, says it's axing around 35,000 jobs as it announced profits for 2019 fell by about a third.
