Opening arguments underway in Weinstein trial

Opening arguments have began in the trial of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

He faces charges of raping one woman and sexually assaulting another.

The trial centers around these allegations but over 90 other women
also accuse Weinstein of sexual abuse and misconduct.

WHO Holds Meeting To Decide Whether Coronavirus Should be Declared International Public Health Emergency

The World Health Organization is holding a meeting Tuesday, in Geneva, to discuss whether the Coronavirus should be declared an international public health emergency.  The virus, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, has already killed at least 9 people, and has spread to several Chinese provinces, as well as Thailand, South Korea, and the United States.

Carmaker Mitsubishi in emissions test probe in Germany

Japanese carmaker Mitsubishi Motors is under investigation for possibly selling vehicles in Germany that cheated emissions tests.

Uganda Red Cross Scales Down Ebola Activities

Intro;

The Uganda Red Cross has scaled down their activities along the border with DR Congo due to a shortage of funds

 

The move has raised concerns over the possible spread of Ebola to Uganda after screening volunteer teams manning major entry points withdrew.

 

The relief agency says the decision to cut back on volunteers was taken by the National Task Forces headed by Uganda's Health Ministry.

India's Supreme Court has refused to put a stay on a new citizenship law that fast tracks amensty for non-Muslim immigrants from three neighbouring countries.
