Indian Opposition Parties Meet to Discuss the New Citizenship Law

India's leading opposition party - the Indian National Congress asked other opposition parties to meet on Monday, to discuss the current political situation in the backdrop of the student protests and the newly-passed citizenship law  

Protests have been on-going for more than a month with students and activists calling the law unsecular.

This will be the first such meeting of the political parties regarding the citizenship law.

France hosts summit on fighting terrorist groups in the Sahel

The presidents of Mali, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Chad and Niger are in France on Monday for a summit hosted by President Emmanuel Macron, aiming to step up the fight against Islamist terror groups in the region.

France has 4500 troops on the ground in the Sahel region.

Senior UK royals meeting to discuss Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

The Queen is meeting senior royals to discuss the future roles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, after the couple declared their intent to "step back" from royal duties.


Prince Harry's brother and father, William and Charles, are also attending, while Meghan Markle is expected to join the discussion by phone from Canada.

Thailand has largest protest gathering since 2014

Thousands gathered on Sunday for a 'run against dictatorship', the event's official name was 'run to oust uncle' which is a reference to the county's current prime minister. One woman is raped every 15 minutes in India

Latest crime statistics released by the Indian government show that one woman in India reported a rape every 15 minuted in 2018.

Facebook shares hit record high

EU foreign ministers meet for emergency talks in Brussels to discuss Iran crisis

EU foreign ministers are holding emergency talks on the Iran crisis on Friday in Brussels, amidst tensions between Washington and Tehran. 

The talks involve foreign ministers from all 28 EU member states, joined by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. 

The meeting comes amid speculation from Western officials that a Ukrainian passenger plane was shot down in error by an Iranian missile.

U.S. Expresses Condolences to Ukraine as Investigation into Plane Crash Continues

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has spoken with the President of Ukraine… expressing his condolences following the crash of a Ukrainian jetliner Wednesday which killed all 176 people on board.

Locust Invasion
