Thailand has largest protest gathering since 2014

Thousands gathered on Sunday for a 'run against dictatorship', the event's official name was 'run to oust uncle' which is a reference to the county's current prime minister. It went ahead without a hitch, despite logistical hurdles faced by organizers, such as not being allowed prior access to the park to set up.

One woman is raped every 15 minutes in India

Latest crime statistics released by the Indian government show that one woman in India reported a rape every 15 minuted in 2018.

Last year, a Reuters survey found India to be the most unsafe country for women.

Facebook shares hit record high

Facebook's shares hit an all time high on Friday, topping levels last
seen before several privacy scandals hit the company.

The penalties come days after Iran fired missiles at US targets in Iraq. That was in retaliation for an American airstrike in Baghdad that killed Iran's top military leader.

EU foreign ministers meet for emergency talks in Brussels to discuss Iran crisis

EU foreign ministers are holding emergency talks on the Iran crisis on Friday in Brussels, amidst tensions between Washington and Tehran. 

The talks involve foreign ministers from all 28 EU member states, joined by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. 

The meeting comes amid speculation from Western officials that a Ukrainian passenger plane was shot down in error by an Iranian missile.

U.S. Expresses Condolences to Ukraine as Investigation into Plane Crash Continues

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has spoken with the President of Ukraine… expressing his condolences following the crash of a Ukrainian jetliner Wednesday which killed all 176 people on board.  


Ukrainian President Zelensky says he appreciates the U.S. support, and that all information obtained will help with their investigation. 

Iran is denying the allegations that one of its own missiles downed the airliner… calling on the U.S. and Canada to share any information they have on the crash.

Locust Invasion

Video shows Ukrainian plane being hit, as Trudeau claims Iranian missile caused its downing

The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says there is evidence that the Ukrainian Airlines plane that crashed near Tehran airport was hit by an Iranian surface to air missile.


And The New York Times has now published video that appears to show a missile hitting the plane shortly after it takeoff - all 176 people on board died.
