Powerful Earthquake Strikes Puerto Rico, Killing At Least One and Injuring Several Others

A powerful 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Puerto Rico Tuesday… killing at least one person, and injuring several others.  The island has experienced a series of tremors over the past ten days, with seismologists saying it's impossible to predict when they will stop.

Jury selection begins in Weinstein trial

Teenage neo-Nazi detained for UK terror attack plans

The youngest ever person to be convicted of planning a terror attack in the UK has been detained for more than six years.


The now 17-year-old wrote about an "inevitable race war" in his diary and listed locations from his home city as targets in a "guerrilla warfare" manual.

Uganda Court Releases Rwandan Nationals

A military court in Uganda has released 7 Rwandan nationals who had been charged with illegal possession of firearms.

Prosecutors provided documents to the court saying they had lost interest in the case and withdrew the charges.

Technical University Teachers in Ghana declare strike.

France and the US set 15 day deadline to resolve digital tax dispute

The French finance minister says France and the US have given themselves 15 days to resolve a trade dispute over France's digital tax.

The US has threatened 2.4 billion dollars of retaliatory tariffs on French wines, leather goods, cheeses and makeup if the tax is not scrapped.

British teenager sentenced over false rape claim in Cyprus

A British teenager detained in a Cypriot prison over a false rape claim is now free to return home to the UK after being handed a four-month suspended sentence. 


The 19-year-old was convicted following a trial having recanting an allegation that she was raped in a hotel room by a dozen young Israeli men in July.

At least 30 killed in a bomb blast in Borno, northeast Nigeria

Delhi Police looks into the JNU attack after criticism

US military presence in Iraq in question amid confusion over a letter

US Defence Secretary Mark Esper has denied US troops are pulling out of Iraq, after a letter from a US general there suggested a withdrawal.

The confusion came amid threats to American forces after the US killed top Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani.

UPDATE: Despite letter to Iraq, US Defense Secretary denies troop withdrawal preparations are about to begin

The Pentagon is now denying that the US has any plans to withdraw its forces from Iraq, despite a letter sent to the Iraqi Defense Ministry by a top US Army official who said preparations for the withdrawal are about to get underway.


Defense Secretary Mark Esper says "no decision" on the pull-out of forces has yet been taken, after the Iraqi Parliament ordered their expulsion.

Pentagon tells Iraq that US will prepare troops for withdrawal from country

The US has told the Iraqi military that it WILL go ahead and prepare for the withdrawal of withdraw five thousand US troops stationed in the country.


The Iraqi Parliament voted over the weekend for the expulsion of all foreign forces based in the country, including around fifteen hundred British troops.
