Uganda-Rwanda Officials Meet in Kampala Over Border Closure

The Rwandan Government says its border with Uganda will stay closed until they are sure their citizens are safe.

 

Rwanda accuses Uganda of arresting its nationals and keeping them in illegal detention centers without trial.

 

This was one of the outcomes of a meeting between the two countries held in the Ugandan capital Kampala.

Trump congratulates "friend" Boris Johnson on election result

US and China reach preliminary trade deal

The US and China have announced a preliminary trade agreement which could soften tensions between the world's two largest economies.

The US has cancelled fresh tariffs on Chinese imports that were due to take effect on Sunday. While China has promised to buy more American farm products and make other structural changes in contentious areas like intellectual property.

U.N. Calls India’s New Citizenship Law “Discriminatory”


A new citizenship law in India is being described by the United Nations as "fundamentally discriminatory in nature".  

The Citizenship Amendment Bill,  which excludes Muslims, ignited violent clashes in Delhi, between police and university students who oppose it.
