Boris Johnson seeks general election for fourth time

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will try for a fourth time to secure an early general election, after Members of Parliament once again rejected his plan. 

 

The British leader will now ask MPs to approve a 12th December election through a so-called one-line bill, which requires the support of fewer MPs than his last attempt, as Benji Hyer explains from London.

Man in custody after opening fire on mosque in south of France

An 84 year old man is in custody in Bayonne in the south of France after he opened fire on a mosque, injuring two worshippers.

Kremlin critic and allies asked to pay $1.4 million in damages

A Russian court has said noted Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny and his allies must pay $1.4 million in damages in a libel suit.

Mr. Navalny, who helped organize large protests in Moscow this summer, has called this a 'government crackdown' against dissent, a charge Moscow denies.

Crowd chants "lock him up" at Trump

He may have just announced the death of one of the world's most wanted terrorists - but US president Donald Trump's attendance at a world series baseball game was greeted with boos and jeers.

UK PARLIAMENT TO VOTE ON GENERAL ELECTION

Russia says no proof of Baghdadi's death
