India releases its annual crime report data

India has released its official crime records for 2017 after a year-long delay in publication.

The annual report is facing criticism for leaving out data on mob lynchings, communal and religious murders.

French farmers protest over low prices

Farmers are protesting outside public offices across rural areas of France - saying they're sick of being ignored by the government.

They say food prices paid by supermarkets are so low they can't survive, and recent trade deals brokered by the EU with Canada and Latin American countries will undercut them further.

Sudan Protests Call for Bashir's Party to be Dissolved.

Protests have rocked major cities in Sudan with thousands calling for a dissolution of the former ruling party of deposed leader Omar al-Bashir.

UK GOVT LAUNCHES BREXIT LEGISLATION ATTEMPT

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is mounting what could be a last chance attempt to push his Brexit deal through Parliament.

Two key votes later (on Tuesday) will determine whether his Withdrawal Agreement Bill can become law by next week.

If the government loses either vote, it may be forced to accept a Brexit delay and is likely to push for an election.

Some lawmakers are angry about the limited amount of time being offered to scrutinise and amend the legislation.

Urban pledges cooperation after municipal election setback

Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban has pledged to cooperate with
all mayors and local councils in the country if they are willing to do

Trudeau wins second term as Canadian PM

California Unemployment Rate Drops to 4%


California's unemployment rate has dropped to the lowest level in four decades. According to state officials, joblessness stood at 4% in September - with job creation seen in business services, manufacturing, and entertainment.

Some US troops may stay in Syria

The US is considering keeping some US troops in north eastern Syria - to prevent oil from falling into the hands of the Isalmic State.

Defense secretary Mark Esperanto said about 1,000 soldiers would be redeployed in the region and that some may stay in Syria.

President Donald Trump has previously pledged to bring US troops home.

UK SPEAKER OF HOUSE OF COMMONS RUELS OUT BREXIT DEAL VOTE

The UK's Speaker of the House of Commons has ruled that Prime Minister Boris Johnson cannot bring his Brexit deal for a meaningful 'yes or no' vote on Monday, as it would equate to brining back the same motion twice - which is not allowed under UK law.


On Saturday, parliament sat to vote on the Brexit deal, but the vote was pulled after an amendment was tabled to withhold approval of the deal until all legislation was passed first.

Drug firms settle to avoid trial

Four drug companies have reached a last-minute settlement over their role in the opioid epidemic hours before opening arguments were meant to start  in the American state of Ohio.  The $260 million deal freezes what would have been the first federal trail over the crisis, but does not resolve the more than 2,600 other lawsuits filed across the United States.
