California Prepares for Massive Power Shutdown

Hundreds of thousands of Californians are bracing themselves for  an electrical power grid shutdown.

State utility companies are planning to shut off power as a precautionary measure amid high risk of wildfires.

White House withdraws all co-operation from impeachment probe sparking Constitutional standoff

The White House says it won't co-operate with the Democrats impeachment investigation of President Trump, describing it as an attempt to overturn the result of the 2016 Presidential election.


The move came shortly after President Trump moved to block the US Ambassador to the EU from testifying on Capitol Hill about the President's communications with Ukraine.

Boeing to Invest 20 Million in Commercial Space Travel

Top US Court Hears LGBTQ Workplace Rights Cases

The United State Supreme Court is considering whether a civil rights law that bars workplace discrimination applies to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. Protesters from both sides gathered outside the court as arguments began.

India to remove travel ban for tourists to Kashmir after two months of crackdown

Merkel’s Office Declines to Comment on Call with British PM

German chancellor Angela Merkel's office has declined to comment on a British report that she told UK prime minister Boris Johnson that a Brexit deal was highly unlikely if Northern Ireland leaves the EU customs union.


The EU and the UK are trying to agree on a Brexit deal before a meeting of EU leaders next week, a scenario that looks increasingly unlikely.

Five Media Houses in Uganda Could Lose Licenses.

UGGESTED LEAD

The Uganda Communications Commission has threatened to revoke the licenses of 5 local media houses over what they called breaching minimum broadcasting standards.


The commission says the media houses aired programs that were extremist and anarchic in April, leading to the incitement of violence during protests that led to the arrest of prominent politician Bobi Wine.

The media houses include top media houses in the country including NTV, NBS, Bukedde TV among others
